Another wet spell from March 1, Know details here

A strong weather disturbance is forecasted to impact the weather in Kashmir from March 1st to March 3rd.

Heavy rain and snowfall is expected across the region under this influence, Kashmir Weather reported.

The start of the rain and snowfall are anticipated to begin from March 1st with the most notable impact on March 3rd, there’s a possibility of moderate of heavy rainfall in the plains which could also lead to snowfall on March 2nd if the rainfall continues at a heavy rate.

In the elevated areas, heavy to very heavy snowfall is expected to persist until March 3rd which may lead to snow accumulations.

The Jammu region is also expected to experience moderate to heavy rainfall during this period of time, with chances of snowfall in the higher regions like Banihal, Kishtwar and Bhaderwah.

Chances of lighting, thunder and strong gusty winds are also to be expected in some parts of the UT, people should be prepared for the weather fluctuations.

Due to the worsening weather conditions, there’s a risk of landslides and shooting stones along the road of the Jammu – Srinagar National Highway, given these conditions and risk factors included, it is strongly suggested to avoid travelling on this route until the conditions improve which is after March 4th.
