The Jammu Kashmir administration on Thursday “retrieved” 718 kanals of state land in the central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
An official said, on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shyambir a joint team of Revenue, and Police departments led by Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Mehraj-ud-Din Shah today retrieved 718 kanals of State and Kahcharai land in various tehsils of the district.
During the ongoing eviction drive, Ganderbal’s district administration has retrieved 11600 Kanal of State land across the district as of today.
While giving details about the anti-encroachment drives undertaken to preserve Government land, the DC said that the drive will continue and no one will be spared and all the “illegal encroachments” on the state land, will be removed.
Pertinently, District Administration has given strict directions to the Tehsildars and enforcement teams to speed up the drive against the land encroachments in their respective jurisdictions with added zeal and dedication so that all State/Kahcharai land is retrieved in the district, which can be subsequently used for public purpose.
The District Administration has sought the cooperation of the general public in retrieving the government land from land grabbers and also warned of action under relevant laws in matters of encroachment on State/Kahcharai land.
