Anti Muslim rally in Jammu: Police arrests two persons, more arrests expected

Following the genocidal slogans against Muslims during a rally in Jammu, local Police have arrested two persons.

An official told The Kashmiriyat that on Sunday morning Police arrested two persons in connection with the hate slogans raised against a community during the Aug 15 celebrations in Jammu.

The official said that the two arrested include Rakesh Bajrangi, the organizer of the said rally.

Organized on Aug 15, the Tiranga rally that was attended by dozens of people evoked massive criticism after videos of the rally went viral on social media.

“jab mulle Kate jayenge, Ram Ram chilayenge,” (when muslims will be killed, they will raise the slogans of Ram Ram), slogans were raised by the crowds.

Following the rally, Mehbooba Mufti, the former Chief Minister of Jammu Kashmir tweeted, “While LG administration was busy showing off the Tiranga Yatra in Kashmir another took place in Jammu where right wing fanatics openly called for a muslim genocide. Murderous slogans of ‘jab mulay katay jayenge ram ram chilayenge.’ What action has this administration taken against these criminals?”

Police has initiated action against those who participated in the rally under sections 295 A (hurting religious sentiments of others) 147 (Rioting) registered under the F.I.R Number 107 at Police station Pacca Danga, the official said.

“Such incidents hurting religious sentiments of any community will not be tolerated in Jammu. Two persons have already been detained and more arrests are expected in this case,” the official told The Kashmiriyat
