An army personnel was injured in an encounter with militants attempting to infiltrate across the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district, Jammu Kashmir, on Saturday, according to security officials.
The encounter took place in the Kalal area of the Nowshera sector when army troops stationed along the LoC spotted a group of militants trying to cross into Indian territory. Upon interception, a firefight ensued between the forces and the infiltrators.
This marks the second infiltration attempt in the Nowshera sector within a week. On September 9, two heavily armed militants were killed near the LoC in the Laam area of the same sector.
Officials reported that the militants managed to escape into a nearby forest after being challenged by the army.
A large-scale search operation has been launched to locate and neutralize the fleeing militants.
