The 47th Battalion of Rashtriya Rifles based in Chak-Kigam Battalion under aegis of 8 Sect RR on Saturday continued its effort to reach out to Bakerwal community who have migrated from South Kashmir to area of Kigam-Kandi Bowl area in Kupwara district.
On arrival of Bakerwal community, Chak-Kigam Battalion interacted with the Bakerwals at various locations on Saturday and assured them of all possible assistance.
The Indian Army in a press statement said that, “Through this interaction we are ensuring the strengthening of our relations with Bakerwals.”
The Indian Army welcomed and distributed Solar lamps and Sweets among a few members of the Bakrewal community, Also during the event their medical issues were addressed, basic medicines along with Health and Hygiene items were distributed.
The gesture shown by the Indian Army was well appreciated by the Bakerwals and they extended their gratitude towards the Army.
