As India continues to struggle with the deadly second wave of covid-19, the neighbors, Pakistanis urged their Prime Minister, Imran Khan to lend support to India in fighting the deadly pandemic.
It has surfaced that since the past couple days, the trends on Pakistani Twitter were based on the lack of oxygen in India required for the treatment of Covid patients. Social media users in Pakistan urged the PM to help India and keep aside the differences.
Meanwhile, the Edhi Foundation wrote to the PM Modi offering help in the form of a fleet of fifty ambulances and other services.
“We, at the Edhi Foundation, have been closely following the current impact that the Covid-19 crisis has had on the people of India,” Faisal Edhi, the chairperson of the Edhi Foundation said. “We are very sorry to hear about the exceptionally heavy impact that the pandemic has had on your country, where a tremendous number of people are suffering immensely,” he added.
India recorded 3.46 lakh Covid positive cases as of Saturday morning and 2,624 deaths, the highest so far reported in any country.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi convened two meetings so far, with chief ministers of the states in order to battle with deadly pandemic. Most of states are running out oxygen and deaths are continuously reported.
The prime minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan has expressed solidarity with India in this challenging situation saying that they must fight this global challenge together.
“I want to express our solidarity with the people of India as they battle a dangerous wave of COVID-19. Our prayers for a speedy recovery go to all those suffering from the pandemic in our neighbourhood & the world. We must fight this global challenge confronting humanity together,” Pakistani PM Khan tweeted.
