Scores of the Asha Workers on Sunday staged a protest in Srinagar to demand an increase in their salary.
Raising slogans demanding an increment in the salary the workers said they have worked tirelessly during covid 19 by availing medicines and other needed items to the Covid patients.

One of the protesters said that they are doing a lot of work still their salary is 2000.
“In Covid-19 pandemic, Asha workers went door to door for vaccination drives, raised awareness about Covid and on the importance of Covid vaccines, Although we are doing our duties on a daily basis, yet the administration puts our demand into the back burner,” she said
The work of Asha workers is not easy if the Governments fail to do any work, they search Asha workers, but when it comes to our salary, the Government is indifferent, she said.
