Ashraf Khan, Yousuf Qantroo, Abbas Sheikh Appear in the List of 10 Most Wanted Militants- Know Who They Are

The Jammu Kashmir Police has released a list of ten top most wanted Militants in the Kashmir valley on Monday evening.

Some of the names in the list have been appearing on various lists for the past several years since the Indian Army launched operation all out in May 2017.

In this fresh list Salim Parray, Yousuf Kantroo, Abbas Sheikh, Reyaz Shetergund, Farooq Nali, Zubair Wani & Ashraf Molvi have also appeared.

The new militants that have appeared on the list given out by Inspector General of Police include Aaqib Manzoor, Umer Mustaq Khandey & Wakeel Shah.

 Mohammed Yusuf Dar, a resident of Kawoosa Budgam is one of the oldest surviving Militants, popularly known as Yusuf Qantroo and is categorized as an A++ Militant. He joined the Militant outfit Lashkar e Taiba in the year 2012.

Known as the master of disguises, Yusuf mainly operates in Baramulla and Budgam Districts of the Kashmir valley.

According to Government Forces Yusuf alias Isseh Qantur is the main operator, planner and recruiter in Budgam and Baramulla districts for Lashkar e Taiba where he mainly operates.

Mohammad Ashraf Khan alias Ashraf Molvi is a resident of Tangpawa area in Kokernag area of South Kashmir’s Islamabad (anantnag) district.

Having joined Militant ranks in 2013, after initially working as an over ground worker, Sources suggest that Molvi is likely to be chosen as the operational commander for the valley.

Hailing from a poor family and survived by a mother, Ashraf was a close aide of Bashir Lashkar, top Lashkar commander and his name surfaced on the list of the most wanted Militants in 2018 and 2019.

Mohd Ashraf Khan alias Ashraf Moulvi, is categorized as an A++ Militant and is believed to be more experienced than Saifullah, the former Hizb commander.

Mohd Abbas Sheikh, a resident of Qumioh, Kulgam Re-joined the militant organisation in March 2014. The army lists him as an A++category miltant.

Abbas was active and was arrested in 2004. He was released after a year.

He was arrested again in 2007 and released three years later. Duribg another nocturnal raid, at his house, Abbas escaped and the Police opened fire. The family later cam to know he got injured and has lost use of one arm.

A scholar identified as Zubair Ahmed Wani, Son of Mohammed Afzal Wani, a Resident of Dehruna Anantnag who joined militant ranks in April 2018 is likely to be replace Saifullah as the top commander of Hizb ul Mujahideen.

A relative of Zubair had told The Kashmiriyat that Zubair has pursued M.Phil from Dehradun College and was now preparing from teacher examinations, Zubair is survived by 3 Sisters, a Younger Brother (labour by profession).

Top commanders categorised A++, Farooq Ahmed Bhat alias Nali joined Militancy in the year 2013.

Farooq Nali, the district commander of HM for Kulgam has earlier managed to give slip to the security forces during several cordon and search operations.

Farooq Ahmed Nali, sources told The Kashmiriyat, has recruited several youth into Militant groups and has an influence upon the youth in the Yaripora belt of South Kashmir and the surrounding areas.

Saleem Ahmed Parray, a resident of Hajin area in Bandipora went missing on  22 October 2017.

Days after him joining LeT, his photos were widely circulated on social media. Parray was against taking photographs, that is why he has not posted any photo carrying AK-47 in his hands till today.
