
Jammu Kashmir Police on Saturday arrested a man in an “extortion” case and recovered “one lakh rupees” from his possession.
The man Ashiq Mir, according to Kashmir Age report, is one of the associates of Imran Ahmad Ganai (Shahid Imran), running a social media page –Kashmir Crown—in connection with the case of exhortation.
The report quoting officials said that a case under IPC sections of 384 (extortion) and 506 (criminal intimidation) was registered in Baramulla against Ashiq Mir.
A police official has also confirmed the arrest of Mir, the report said, adding, further investigations are underway.
