In a distressing incident, more than 20 shops faced significant damage in a fire that ravaged through the Dar-Gali market in Kupwara, North Kashmir.
The calamity unfolded during the late hours of Wednesday, prompting a swift response from local authorities, locals told The Kashmiriyat.
A coordinated effort involving the police, fire, and emergency services ensued as they diligently worked to quell the flames.
Despite their determined efforts, the fire proved formidable, causing substantial harm to the numerous shops in its path.
The extent of the damage became evident even as the responders managed to bring the situation under control, they said.
Meanwhile, Law enforcement has taken cognizance of the situation, and a thorough investigation is underway to ascertain the cause of the fire.
