At least six Militants Appear in Shopian’s Nazneenpora, Offer Gun Salute to Slain Colleague

Panic gripped Nazneenpora area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Tuesday as intensive firing was heard in the area.

Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a group of at least six armed Militants appeared in Nazneenpora on the anniversary of slain Farooq Ahmed Hurra and offered gun salute to the slain commander.

The Militants appeared in the Shopian village on Tuesday evening and fired several rounds in the air as a mark of respect to the slain Militant Farooq Ahmed Hurrah.

Farooq was killed in an encounter with Government Forces in padgampora area of Awantipora in Pulwama on 26 March in 2017 along with his associate, Shahbaz Ahmed Wani alias Rayees Kachroo.

Meanwhile hundreds of people visited the houses of slain militants on their anniversary.
