At least Thirty Injured in Clashes in Shopian, Militants Offer Gun Salute to Shah Jahan

At least three dozen persons were injured during intense clashes that began in Batpora and adjoining areas of South Kashmir’s Shopian District on Saturday.

The youth in large numbers along with women and old men hit the streets after the news of the Killing of the top Jaish commander, Shah Jahan spread in the area, People in large numbers shouting slogans protested and Government forces fired tear smoke shells and pellets to disperse the protesters.

Hospital Sources at Shopian District hospital told The Kashmiriyat that at least twenty protesters were injured during the clashes have been admitted in the hospital, four of them have been shifted to Srinagar for advanced treatment.

Meanwhile in Amshipura, thousands of people have gathered to offer funeral prayers of the slain Militant, Militants appeared to the crowds in the funeral and offered gun salute to the Slain colleague.
