Authorities in Jammu have issued a high alert following the disappearance of Yasir Bhat, a Hizbul Mujahideen militant, from his residence in Kulgam, south Kashmir, Republic TV reported.
Bhat, who was out on bail, was involved in a grenade attack at the Jammu Bus Stand in March 2019, which resulted in one civilian’s death and injuries to 28 others. At the time of the attack, Bhat was a juvenile.
His involvement in the attack, despite his young age, has raised significant concerns among security forces.
In response, the police have distributed posters of Bhat throughout Jammu, seeking public assistance in locating him.
Given his recent disappearance, security forces have intensified their efforts to track him down and mitigate any potential threats.
Bhat was granted bail due to his juvenile status at the time of the attack, but his escape has prompted heightened security measures.
