Block Medical Officer (BMO) Qazigund sealed twelve private clinics and two diagnostic centers in Qazigund area of Kulgam district for not following the guidelines of the health department.
The authorities on Tuesday woke up to the mushrooming of diagnostic centers in the block Qazigund by sealing unregistered labs in the area.
The owners of clinics and diagnostic centers were warned to make improvement and strictly adhere to all guidelines within one week otherwise stringent action will be taken against them.
Block Medical Officer (BMO) Zahoor Ahmad Tantary, said, “Any illegal or unethical practice will not be allowed to flourish by the department,”.
“These centers were not registered with this department which is a pre-requisite under Clinical Establishment Act,” the officials said. People have hailed the action of health officials.
Locals were already up in arms against health officials for allowing unregistered clinics in the area who they say were charging them at will.
People demanded that adequate infrastructure should be in place at all these centers, vetted by the health officials.
