A snow avalanche hit Sondbrari area of Magam in Kokernag in South Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) district on Thursday evening.
Police officials confirming the incident to The Kashmiriyat said that a snow avalanche hit the area on Thursday evening and a house has been completely buried under snow.
The family members, at least four in number, have been buried under snow, they said.
They said that the Police with the help of locals have launched a rescue operation in the area to find the missing family members.
Sources confirmed to The Kashmiriyat that the residential house belonged to Bashir Ahmed Qureshi.
Meanwhile a snow avalanche has hit the Jawahar tunnel for the second time in this year.
