Railway Police Jammu Kashmir on Monday issued an advisory asking people to not walk on the railway tracks.
The advisory came hours after a man lost his legs while trying to commit suicide by jumping in front of a moving train in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
The injured man was rushed to GMC Anantnag for treatment where from he was referred to Srinagar hospital for further treatment”, he added.
“We appeal to the general public against waling on railway tracks or stealing livestock and if any person is caught doing so, strict legal action will be taken against him. He shall be personally responsible. So keep as far away from the track as possible,” the railway Police advisory read.
