The Indian Army had organised the ‘Sports Festival – 2020’ on 1 July 2020 with 12 athletic and field events at various places in Baramulla and Budgam districts, due to COVID restrictions and lockdown, the sports event was postponed.
Adhering to the COVID-19 protocols, final rounds of the sports events and the prize distribution ceremony for the festival was conducted today on 20 September, 2020 at Kunzer ground. Besides, various fun activities, games and food stalls were organised for children.
In this event, more than 200 children participated where all the events and stalls were conducted and manned by the local public.
People cheered the participants and a healthy competitive atmosphere was created. Participants and locals were full of enthusiasm and expressed their gratitude towards Army for conducting such an event and applauded the army for the initiative. The audience and participants requested the Army to conduct more of such sports events.
