To create training /awareness about disaster management among students, volunteers and civil society in general, a daylong awareness program cum workshop and mock drill was organized by District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Shopian, here at mini secretariat Arhama Shopian.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Shopian, Shabir Hussain Bhat who is also chief executive officer disaster management Shopian was the chief guest on the occasion.
ADC lauded the role of SDRF team for organising such camps at the Tehsil levels for the benefit of students /general masses and hoped that the effort would go a long way in protecting the precious lives and property during, fire incidents and other exigencies effectively.
On the directions of District Administration Shopian, a series of such awareness and preparedness programmes were also organised at tehsil levels of the district including Tehsil Shopian, Keller, Keegam, Hermain, Barbug, Zainapora and Chittragam.
