Bangladesh announced on Saturday that its passports will no longer bear the text “valid for all countries of the world except Israel,” essentially lifting a travel ban.
Israel has welcomed Bangladesh’s decision to remove the travel ban and has called upon the Bangladeshi government to establish diplomatic ties with Israel.

Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen today said removing the words “except Israel” in the new passport does not mean that there has been a change in Bangladesh’s position, as it still does not recognise Israel.
