
The forest department on Monday booked a bank official for allegedly involved in cutting down a tree in north Kashmir’s Rafiabad forest range of Langate.
The incident came to fore after a video went viral on internet, following which a prompt action was initiated by forest department registered an FIR and logs were also seized.
Reports reaching to Kashmir News Service (KNS), that some unknown persons had cut down the forest firewood tree in Rafiabad range in compartment No. 30 in Darbal Langate. Soon after the video went viral, the forest departed rushed its officials who seized the stuff.
A senior officer from forest department while speaking to KNS said that single forest tree was cut down which however have been seized. “The seized material has been dispatched to Forest Division Langate.
“Subsequently the accused was identified as Nazir Ahmad Dar s/o Ab. Aziz Dar R/o Budbugh a bank official following which an FIR has been registered in police station Kralgund and further investigations taken up”, the official said. _(KNS)
