Bank Robbery Attempt Foiled in Dooru, Two Arrested

Thieves on the intervening nights of 04 and 05 July, made an unsuccessful attempt to rob two banks in Dooru Hamlet of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

Officials told The Kashmiriyat that during the intervening night, burglars had first made an unsuccessful attempt to rob Jammu Kashmir Bank Chenigund Dooru area of Anantnag.

They had managed to break the wall of the bank but failed to break the inner locker of the bank in which money was kept.

After failing there, they had managed to steal some castles in the area and later they tried to rob State bank Verinag, Sources told The Kashmiriyat.

While they were trying to break the wall of the State Bank Verinag, police team headed by SHO Verinag, Tajamul Hussain reached to the spot and arrested one person along with his vehicle bearing registration number JK19 7074 on spot.

Later one more person was arrested and further investigation has taken up, they said.

The arrested duo was identified as Mohammed Saleem shan, son of Jamal din resident of Tanger Ramban and Mohammad Maqsood Mir, son of Mohammad Shafi Mir resident of Ramban Kabhi.
