Baramulla Encounter Over- Two Bodies, Weapons Recovered

Two Militants  have been killed in the encounter that started between Militants and Government Forces in Kreeri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla District early morning on Thursday.

Officials told The Kashmiriyat that 52 RR of Indian Army, SOG of Police and CRPF jointly launched the Anti Militancy operation.

Earlier Forces had launched a Cordon and Search Operation in the area upon receiving a specific input about the presence of Militants in the area, Sources told The Kashmiriyat.

The holed up Militants fired on the forces triggering a Gunfight, 2 Local Militants were initially believed to be trapped in the area, sources told The Kashmiriyat.

Officials said that two Local Militants have been killed in the gunfight and one AK 47, one Insas Rifle, one UGBL Grenade has been recovered from their possession.

They said that two dead bodies have been recovered from the site of the encounter.

Meanwhile Sources identified the Militants as Suhaib Akhoon who was the commander of Lashkar e Taiba and his associate Akeel Ahmed Sofi, both residents of Baramulla district in North Kashmir.

However officials are yet to confirm their identity. “Their identities are yet to be ascertained,” the SSP of Baramulla said.

Mobile Internet services have been barred in the North Kashmir district.
