In the ongoing human trafficking investigation in Baramulla, two additional suspects have been arrested and three more minors have been rescued.
According to a statement from the Kashmir Scroll News Agency, the arrests came as part of the ongoing investigation into case FIR No. 173/2024 at the Baramulla Police Station.
The suspects, Ghulam Mohammad Khan of Narbal and Manzoor Ahmad Shah of Janbazpora, are implicated in the trafficking and exploitation of minor girls from outside the region.
A police team led by the SHO of Baramulla Police Station and supervised by the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Headquarters Baramulla, detained the suspects, who have been transferred to the Baramulla Police Station.
Additionally, three minor girls, identified as Rohingya from Burma, were rescued.
Previously, two suspects from Baramulla were arrested and four minor females were rescued during the initial phase of the investigation.
This operation underscores the Baramulla Police’s dedication to fighting human trafficking and protecting the safety and dignity of vulnerable individuals.
