Baramulla sweep targets illegal mining: Six arrests and vehicle seizures reported

Police have stepped up their crackdown on illegal mining and mineral transportation in Baramulla, resulting in the seizure of six vehicles and the arrest of six drivers.

A police team, operating under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla and SDPO Kreeri, confiscated two tippers, two dumpers, and two tractors at Gantamulla Payeen and Frastahaar Kreeri.

The arrested drivers have been identified as Anzar Malla from Sheeri, Ghulam Hassan Malik from Kitchama, Irfan Ahmad Bhat from Hajin Bandipora, Mumtaz Ahmad Wani from Nadihal Bandipora, as well as Abdul Hameed Waza and Omer Waza from Frastahaar, according to a police spokesperson.

Cases have been filed under relevant legal sections at Police Station Sheeri and Police Station Kreeri, and investigations are ongoing.
