In a case related to the Delhi violence earlier this year, during the Anti CAA and NRC protests, a complaint registered by an eyewitness with the Delhi Police Station, accused a BJP Councillor from Johripur of inciting violence during the riots.
The complaint was filed at the Gokulpuri Police Station on 11 March, the Quint reported.
The eyewitness has said, Carrying sword, Trishuls, large axes and Pistols, The Mob Shouted “Jai Shri Ram”, “Aag Lagao” “Maaro”.
The Quint has accessed a copy of the complaint, and quoted the complainant as saying, “On 24.02.2020, I was at my home. At around 8-9 at night, I heard a great deal of noise and commotion and came down from my home.
The complainant has said that he saw that around 100-150 people were coming chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’, ‘Ka**o ko sabak sikhao’ (teach a lesson to Muslims) ‘Aag lagao ‘Maaro’”.
He further in has complaint has said that it was the time when he saw Yogendra Jeanswala and Councillor Kanhaiya Lal, who was leading the mob.
Kanhaiya Lal brought this violent mob towards the shop of Yogendra Jeanswala’s shop where they stopped.
The entire mob began shouting slogans loudly.
