
At least nine residential houses were damaged in a massive fire in the old Town locality of this North Kashmir’s Baramulla district, officials said on Saturday leaving 14 families homeless.
The officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that the fire appeared at one of the residential house and soon spread to other adjacent houses quickly.
However, they said that the fire spread to nearby structures and before it was brought under control nine residential houses were completely damaged.
“No one was injured in the incident,” they said, adding the cause of the fire was not immediately known. At least 14 families were rendered homeless who were putting up in nine residential houses.”
They said police have registered a case and initiated investigation to ascertain the cause of the fire. The locals meanwhile urged the district administration for immediate compensation and relief to the affected families—(KNO)
