A 15-year old boy died due to intense cold following fresh snowfall in mountains of Pir Panchal Range along the Mughal road, officials said. Also, his father and three other persons suffered injuries when they slipped from hills while carrying the boy’s body.
The boy identified as Usman Ali (15) son of Mohammad Aslam of Androot Rajouri died of the cold in hills of Choti Marg near Pir Ki Gali along the Mughal road in Surankote area.
The injured have been identified as Mohd Aslam, Mehar Ali, both residents of Androot, Rajouri, Mohd Yaqoob of Surankote and Mohd Yousuf of Bangla, Rajouri.
The injured persons said that dozens of sheep and four horses also died due to the inclement weather following the heavy snowfall in the mountains region.
