The Jammu Kashmir Police has issued a press release about the incident in Budgam in which a woman was found dead in the Magam area of the district on Wednesday morning.
In its statement, Police said that it recovered dead of a woman on Wednesday afternoon after which they took the body for medico-legal formalities.
During the investigation, the woman was identified as Kulsum, a resident of Drung in Tangmarg area of Baramulla.
“A suicide note recovered during a personal search of the deceased, implicated a local youth, alleging his involvement in her decision to commit suicide due an alleged affair and subsequent denial of marriage,” read the Police press release.
Prima facia seems to be a case of poisoning related suicide abetted by the youth who was arrested in the case, it reqd.
The Police added that a case under the FIR No 8/2024 under section 306 0f IPC was registered at police station Magam and further investigation taken up.
