Burhan Ganie, a resident of SK Colony area in South Kashmir’s Islamabad (anantnag) tonwhsip is likely among the Two Militants killed during an encounter between militants and Government forces at Bagendar area of Bijbehara in South Kashmir’s Islamabad (anantnag) District.
Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the body of Burhan has been handed over to his family for his last rites.
Army officials meanwhile confirmed that the slain have been identified as Safdar Amin of Zirpora, Bijbehara and Dr Burhan of SK Colony in Islamabad (anantnag), Both affiliated to Hizb ul Mujahideen,
Officials told The Kashmiriyat that on Thursday morning 3 RR of Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police after receiving inputs about Militant presence in the area laid a cordon and search operation in the area around 2 am.
The cordon continued for nearly two to three hours, during which the hiding Militants opened fire on the troopers triggering an encounter.
Mobile internet services have been barred in Islamabad (anantnag) South Kashmir District, Also restrictions have been imposed in the Islamabad (anantnag) township.
Burhan had completed his bachelors in Physiotherapy from Sher e Kashmir institute of Medical Science and from July last year he would have started his internship, but he went missing in May.
Burhan is survived by a family of seven members
