Following a specific input about Militant movement, the Government Forces jointly launched a cordon and search operation in the Mir Mohalla area of Arwani in South Kashmir’s Islamabad (anantnag) district.
On Monday morning, the forces including RR of Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir police sealed all the entry and exit points to the Arwani area.
Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a heavy contingent of forces reached this locality and are conducting a search operation in the area.
Youth in large numbers hit the streets as soon as the search operation started.
The forces fired tear smoke shells and pellets to disperse the protesting youth.
However, the clashes were going on.
A search operation was going on when this report was being filed.
