Casual Labourers of Municipal Committee Stage Protest in Anantnag, Demand Regularization

Hundreds of casual labourers on Tuesday afternoon staged a protest in Anantnag and were demanding regularisation of their services.
According to the correspondent, these employees raised slogans against the authorities and appealed LG of Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir to look into their problems.

These employees said they have been working in the department from the last 10 years but the department has not regularised their services. They said they are unable to meet both ends.

“We are also facing the financial crisis in their families as their wages are pending in the different departments. But we are demanding the government for the implementation of the minimum wages act. So, these temporary employees will also get the relief if it will be implemented upon the grounds levels,” they told The Kashmiriyat.

They also told that they perform their duties from dawn to dusk. During COVID-19 crisis, they take the front zone as corona warriors to sanitize areas as preventive measures. Their demand is to regular our services under SRO 64.
