On Monday, the Jammu and Kashmir administration fixed the rates for sacrificial livestock in the Kashmir Valley ahead of Eid-ul-Adha. Both international and domestic buyers have rejected a series of tea consignments due to the presence of pesticides and chemicals beyond permissible limits, Indian Tea Exporters Association (ITEA) chairman Anshuman Kanoria said on Friday. Filling up the vacuum created by crisis-hit Sri Lanka in the global market, Tea Board is eyeing to ramp up exports. However, the rejection of consignments is causing a decline in outward shipments. All teas sold in the country must conform to the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) norms. After an increase of ₹ 1324.5 in its cost over the past two years, the price for a commercial LPG cylinder has been reduced by Rs 135 with immediate effect from today. This reduction on Wednesday has brought down the price of 19 KG LPG commercial cylinder in Delhi will now cost Rs 2219. As per news agency ANI, prior to the reduction in costs on Wednesday, the commercial LPG cylinder was priced at Rs 2454 in Kolkata, Rs 2306 in Mumbai, and Rs 2507 in Chennai. After the respite, the rate for a commercial LPG cylinder in Kolkata is now Rs 2322, Rs 2171.50 in Mumbai, and Rs 2373 in Chennai. Shoppers in Anantnag have been mandated by the local administration to keep their shops shut once a week. According to an order by Assistant Labour Commissioner Anantnag, accessed by The Kashmiriyat, the shoppers in the south Kashmir district to close their Shop/Establishment on Sundays or Fridays. "The owners of shop/establishment who have opted Sunday as weekly close day are hereby directed to keep their shop/establishment close on Sundays and similarly the owners who have opted Friday as s close day shall remain closed on Fridays, anybody violates this order shall be dealt as per law," the official order read.

The costumers of Jammu Kashmir Bank were on Tuesday put to a lot of inconveniences after services went down once again across the Kashmir Valley on Sunday. Reports reaching Kashmir News Service (KNS) said that J&K Bank services including ATM and mPay services were down since early morning today, thereby putting costumers into a lot inconveniences. They said that the services were down at most places and costumers had to face lot of difficulties while withdrawing cash and do any online transactions. “Even as money was deducted from our accounts, but we were unable to collect the cash from the ATM. In the ensuing month of Ramadhan, Kashmir is consuming at least 100 trucks of watermelon per day at the cost of Rs 5 crore. Talking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Bashir Ahmad Bashir president of Fruit and Vegetable Association Kashmir said that a week ago, they were receiving a supply of 50 to 60 trucks of watermelon from various states of India but the demand went up and has exceeded 100 trucks as of now. “Every vehicle contains 15 to 20-ton watermelon. Government hikes price of essential medicines including Paracetamol by 10.7 per cent

The Government of India has announced a 10.7 percent increase in the Wholesale Price Index (WPI) for the calendar year 2021 over the corresponding period in 2020. The prices of nearly 800 scheduled medicines on the National List of Essential Medicines, which are used to treat the majority of common ailments, will rise by 10.7 percent starting from April 1, 2022, PTI reported. "Based on the WPI data provided by the office of the Economic Advisor, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the annual change in WPI works out as 10.76607% during the calendar year 2021 over the corresponding period in 2020," the NPPA notice said.
