Admin orders placement of 156 Assistant professor as Associate Professors

The Jammu Kashmir administration has ordered the placement of 156 Assistant Professors placed as Associate Professors in the higher education department. An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that this is the second placement in less than 4 months as on January 27 as many as 13 associate professors of engineering were placed as professors. Section 144 CrPC imposed within 100 meters of examination centres in Anantnag

EDUCATION
In view of CBSE Class X and Class XII Board Examinations to be held at notified centres in Anantnag, District Magistrate Anantnag has imposed Section 144 CrPC within 100 metres of these centres to prevent external interference in the smooth and orderly conduct of the examination. The notified centres include Delhi Public School Sangam Bijbehara, Army Goodwill Public School Batakote Pahalgam and Shemford Futuristic School Wanpoh Anantnag. As per the order issued, the order shall remain operative till the examination is over. However, the restrictions shall not apply to the staff appointed for smooth conduct of the examination, the checking squad engaged for the conduct of examination and candidates taking up the examination.

LG appoints Prof Neelofar Khan as new VC for KU

The Jammu and Kashmir administration led by Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha on Thursday appointed Prof Neelofer Khan as the new Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kashmir. Professor Khan was working in the department of Home Science. The Hindu organisations have come together to demand the implementation of the rule of making singing of the national anthem compulsory in madrassas before commencing classes. Students of the Kashmir University on Saturday staged a massive protest against the termination of a Chemistry Professor by the Jammu Kashmir administration over alleged militancy links.
