Much to the embarrassment of the education department, the fresh Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) report has revealed that six percent of the students enrolled in government schools across Jammu and Kashmir had no textbooks for their current grade. According to the report, only 94 percent of the students studying in government schools were having textbooks in the current grade during 2021. Authorities on Wednesday said that the Term-II examination of 8th standard will be conducted on Multiple Choice Question (MCQs) based with thirty percent syllabi relaxation. In a notification issued by the State Council of Education Research and Training (SCERT) of Jammu and Kashmir, the Term-II examination of 8th standard students will be conducted for the students of Kashmir Division and Winter Zone areas of Jammu Division that will commence from November-22.
