Kounsar Bashir The students of 5 year B.A. L.L.B. whose degrees are halted due to backlogs had alleged that the Law department of Kashmir University was not conducting their exams, putting their careers at stake. The students demanded a special exam for backlogs which had put their degrees on halt. They had written an application, in this regard, to the HOD Law department, a copy of which lies with The Kashmiriyat. The application, written by the "ex-students of the aforesaid department" stated that most of the students were facing issues in the "end results of 1st to 10th semesters." Pooling will jeopardize career of JK MBBS, PG aspirants: DAK

With Jammu and Kashmir (JK) pooling its MBBS and PG seats in All India Quota (AIQ), Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) on Saturday said the move will jeopardize the career of JK aspirants. Opposing the move, DAK President Dr. Nisar ul Hassan said pooling will mar the future prospects of aspiring candidates. The Medical Council Committee (MCC), in its recent notification, stated that JK government was likely to participate in AIQ counseling from this year and referred the subject to JK government for its approval. Jammu Kashmir Govt. Schools Witness Dip in Student Enrollment

In Jammu Kashmir, the student enrollment has taken a dip of nearly two percent at all levels in the government-run-schools as compared to the previous academic years. The news agency-Kashmir News Observer (KNO) has learnt that the Government of India (Gol) in a project approval board meeting has said that the highest dip was witnessed in the elementary and secondary level schools. "Enrolment at elementary as well as at secondary and higher secondary level has decreased by 0.2 lakh at Primary level, 0.1 lakh at Upper Primary level that resulted in a decrease of 0.34 lakh enrolment at Elementary level," MOE said. 20 Students from Jamia clear UPSC Exams

20 Students from Jamia Millia Islamia’s Residential Coaching Academy have cleared the civil services examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Faizan Ahmed, who ranked 58, has secured the highest position among successful candidates from Jamia’s coaching academy. 14 out of them are from the current batch while the remaining six candidates were coached in previous batches at the academy. Five external students who were trained for the interview at Jamia’s coaching academy have also cracked the exam. A total of 10 students from Jamia Hamdard Residential Coaching Academy are also among the 761 candidates selected by the UPSC for various positions. Vinayak Chamadia, who ranked 47, has secured the highest position among candidates from Jamia Hamdard.
