CEO Kupwara Slaps Show Cause Notice to Private School for ‘Conducting Classwork’ Amid COVID Lockdown

Chief Education Officer Kupwara has shot a show-cause notice to a private school in the district for it conducting class-work amid ongoing COVID-19 lockdown. Covid 19- Closure of Educational Institutes Extended till May 31

The Jammu Kashmir administration on Sunday said that the closure of educational institutes in Jammu Kashmir has been extended. "All Universities, Colleges and technical / skill development institutions in J&K to remain closed till May 31. All schools, coaching centers in J&K to remain closed till May 31. Religious places of worship to remain open," J&K Govt. Earlier the administration extended the lockdown in the erstwhile state till 6 May to stop the spread of the covid virus.

The collleges and Universities across Jammu Kashmir have been ordered to remain shut till the 15th day of May amid the growing covid 19 cases in the region. In a tweet, the office of the Lieutenant Governor Jammu Kashmir, Manoj Sinha said that all colleges and universities in Jammu Kashmir will be shut till 15 of May. Strict Action to be Taken Against Schools Charging Anything other than Tuition Fees

The Jammu Kashmir education Department has said that any private school charging any fees other than the tuition fees will be strongly dealt with. "If the school operators closed due to corona are charging anything other than tuition fees, the administration is going to take strict action against such schools," the education department has said. Pertinently the board has received several complaints alleging that students are being pressurized to deposit bus, laboratory, sports fees and to purchase textiles, books, and uniforms. Taking cognizance of these complaints, the directorate has issued a circular stating that all the schools against which such complaints are being raised, the authorities concerned should ensure action against them.
