The additional district magistrate, Ganderbal, on Sunday issued order for closure of Govt Boys Higher Secondary School at Ganderbal, April 15 to April 17. No Further Extension, Educational Institutes to Reopen in Kashmir on March 11

March 06 Advisor to Governor, Khursheed Ganie, who holds the charge of Education Department, today said that there will be no further extension in winter vacations beyond March 9 and all schools, colleges will open from March 11. Chairing a high level meeting attended by the Vice Chancellors, College Principals, Controller of Examinations and Director School Education Kashmir, Ganie asked them to make preparations for starting class work.

Winter Vacation in Kashmir Schools and Colleges Extended Again

March 02 The divisional administration has extended the winter vacation of schools and colleges in Kashmir till March 10. An official said the decision to extend the winter vacation has been taken in view of the prevailing inclement weather in Kashmir. “The class work in all schools upto higher secondary and degree colleges of Kashmir will now resume from March 11 (Monday),” the official said. Earlier, the class work in schools and colleges was supposed to resume on March 05 post winter vacations.

Winter Vacations Likely to Be Extended Till March 05 in Kashmir valley

February 21 The school education department has decided to extend the winter vacation for all classes upto March 05. In this regard, a proposal has been submitted by director school education Kashmir (DSEK) G N Itoo to the administrative department. “The classwork in high end higher secondary classes was supposed to resume from 25th of this month but we have sought extension of winter vacation for all classes from primary to higher secondary classes up to March 05,” the outgoing DSEK said. He said the formal order for the extension in winter vacation will be issued today later. He said the government has agreed to extend the winter vacations for all classes.
