Militant funding: Court grants NIA more time for probe, extends custody of Khurram, two others

A Delhi court on Thursday allowed the NIA more time to complete its investigation in a case of militant funding in Jammu Kashmir against human rights activist Khurram Parvez and two others. Special NIA judge Praveen Singh also extended the custody of Parvez, Muneer Ahmad Kataria and Arshid Ahmad Tonch by 50 days, saying chances of tampering with evidence cannot be ruled out. "I find that as investigation is in progress, the chances of tampering with evidence cannot be ruled out," the judge said. He added that it was a "fit case where further extension for the period of investigation as demanded should be granted". Do you tell them: ‘Movie ka poster lagata hoon (I put movie posters),” Arvind Kejriwal said while addressing the Delhi Assembly. “It doesn’t suit you, putting posters of “Jhoothi” films like The Kashmir Files. The Madhya Pradesh government has said that it will issue a notice to IAS officer Niyaz Khan, who had posted tweets on the recently released movie 'The Kashmir Files'. In his tweets, Khan, who is deputy secretary with the MP Public Works Department, had last week urged makers of "The Kashmir Files" to also make a film on the "killings of large number of Muslims across several states" in India, and said members of this minority community are "not insects, but citizens of the country". After his tweets became viral, the film's director, Vivek Agnihotri, had sought an appointment with Khan for "exchanging ideas".
