After Haryana Admin Denies Space, Sikh Community opens Doors of Gurdwaras; Offers Space for Friday Namaz
During the past several weeks, Muslims have been stopped from offering congregational prayers on Friday's in Gurugram, after violent protests by Hindutva groups.
The Haryana Administration has said that “objections from local residents and RWAs” led them to the withdrawal of permission for Friday prayers by the Muslim community at eight of the 37 sites agreed upon earlier, Indian express reported.
The move evoked widespread condemnation from various quarters of the society. Moreover, a committee overseeing five gurdwaras in Gurgaon Haryana has offered their premises for the congregational namaz.
