The Police in Uttar Pradesh booked four persons under sedition after right wing groups alleged that a Pakistani flag was hoisted on the rooftop of a house in Mundera Bazar area of Chauri Chora in Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh, Indian Express reported. A group of Right-wing activists gathered outside the house as the word spread in the area and pelted stones on the house during which the houses suffered heavy damage. Six persons including a colonel of Indian Army, his wife and son, and three soldiers were killed in an ambush by Militants near the border with Myanmar in Manipur. The attack - one of the deadliest in the region in recent times - took place at 10 am in Manipur's Churachandpur district, NDTV repoerted The deceased colonel was identified as Viplav Tripathy of the 46 Assam Rifles. He had gone to a forward camp on Saturday and was returning when his convoy was ambushed, sources said. Manipur-based group People's Liberation Army, or PLA, is believed to be behind the attack, though no group has claimed responsibility yet, sources have said.
