  On Wednesday, Aligarh Police arrested a 17-year-old for the rape and murder of a minor Dalit girl in Akrabad area of Aligarh. Senior Superintendent of Police, Aligarh, Muniraj G said the accused was in the police custody where he confessed his crime. According to the police, the accused was watering wheat crop in the afternoon on February 28, when the victim came to the field to collect fodder for her cattles. The accused has sexually assaulted her after resisting he strangulated her with her own duppatta, then dragged the body to another field. The postmortem report indicated death by strangulation while injury marks were found on the face, neck and chest of the victim. On Monday, once again the national oil marketing companies have increased the prices of LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) refill by Rs 25 each. Within a month, this is the fourth time when the prices are hiked. On Thursday 25 , the oil marketing companies hiked the prices of domestic gas cylinder (14.2 kg) by Rs. 25 per cylinder. This was the third hike in February. In February, the prices were hiked on 4 and 14 for cooking gas cylinders. From March 1, the new rates of LPG refill will be effective. Since February, this is the fourth hike and from December last year, this is the sixth time when prices are rapidly increasing. On Sunday, in the Akrabad area of Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh, a 16 year Dalit girl went missing after she left home in the afternoon to collect fodder for the cattle from the fields but till evening she didn’t return.
