Temple Priest Arrested for Raping a Woman in Mumbai

August 11 A 77-year-old man, a temple priest, was arrested today for allegedly molesting a woman in Kalyan area in the district, police said. Gopal Tambe, the accused, was booked under section 354 of IPC (molestation), said assistant police inspector S S Rajput of Kolsewadi police station. 19 Killed as Rains Create Havoc in Kerala

August 09 At least 19 people have been killed in Rain related incidents in Kerala since Wednesday, as it continued to pour in several parts of the South Indian state. According to the state disaster control room, 11 people have been killed in Idukki, five in Malappuram, two in Kannur and one in Wayanad. Five members of a family at Adimali in Idukki were killed after their house was destroyed in the wee hours of Wednesday. The deceased have been identified as Hassan Koya's wife Fatima, their son Mujeeb, his wife Shameena, children Diya Fatima and Diya Sana. Landslides have also been reported from Kalikkavu, Nilambur and Karuvarakund. It is feared that many families have been isolated.

August 05 A 21-year-old girl was allegedly to death by an unidentified man near the busy Regional Transport Office (RTO) in Thane area of Mumbai. The incident took place in broad day light around 10.30 am, reports said.
