Hindu Priest Arrested for Raping 120 Girls in Haryana

July 29 Baba Amarpuri, a priest at Baba Balaknath Temple in Haryana's Fatehabad was arrested by police after videos of him allegedly raping women surfaced online. As per reports, the 60-year-old is accused of raping at least 120 women. He has been sent to 5-day police remand. Reports suggest that the police have received 120 clips, each with a different victim. The videos were shot by baba himself, with his cellphone. Baba’s heinous face came to light when a relative of the accused approached the police with a CD of the clips. Police say 'We filed a case & started probe. Goat Dies After being Raped by 8 men in haryana

July 29 In a shocking incident, a pregnant goat died after being gang-raped by eight men in Mewat of Haryana. According to reports, the eight men reportedly stole the goat from a house early and took the goat to a secluded spot and mercilessly raped her. After that, five people fled the scene whereas three stayed back. They tracked the goat down after hearing to her shriek. When he found the goat, she had already breather her last. 49 Killed as Rains Lash Uttar Pradesh

July 28 As many as 49 people have lost their lives in rain-related incidents in Uttar Pradesh since Thursday reports said. The maximum deaths were reported with Saharanpur at 11 deaths, as heavy rains created eaked havoc in different parts of the North Indian State. The Chief Minister of the state, Yogi Adityanath has directed senior officials of all districts to alert people and asked them to undertake extensive tours in the affected areas, Government officials said. They said that Directives have been issued to extend monetary assistance to those who have been severely affected by rains.

581 Militants Killed Since 2015

July 25 The Government forces have killed 581 militants since 2015 while 69 personnel died in ceasefire violations along the LoC and the India-Pakistan border in Jammu Kashmir, Minister of State for Defence Subhash Bhamre told the Lok Sabha today. In 2015, 108 militants were killed by security forces followed by 150 in 2016, 213 in 2017 and 110 in 2018 (up to July 22) along the Line of Control (LoC), Bhamre said in a written response to a question in the Lower House. He said 44 personnel of the Army and 25 of the Border Security Force (BSF) were killed in ceasefire violations since 2015. The LoC and the India-Pakistan border in Jammu Kashmir have been volatile. 2,000 additional seats allotted to JK for Hajj 2018

July 25 Jammu Kashmir has been allotted 2,000 additional seats for Haj this year as a “special quota” in line with the new formula of allocation of surplus seats generated by under-utilized quota of states, Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi told the Lok Sabha today. In a reply to a written question, he said with the addition of 2,000 seats, a total of 10,062 seats have been allocated to Jammu Kashmir for Haj 2018. A total of 7,960 seats were allotted to the state for Haj 2017. July 24 The ice shivling at the Amarnath cave in Jammu Kashmir has melted completely, as on Sunday evening. “The shivling has melted but ‘Mata Parvati’ is still intact,” camp director Sachin Jamwal told media reporters. The yatra is still continuing and approximately 5,000 pilgrims are visiting the cave every day. “Whether or not the shivling melts, yatris continue to visit because the cave itself has tremendous religious significance,” Jamwal added. On the 27th day of the Shri Amarnathji Yatra, 1,629 Yatris paid obeisance at the Holy Cave. Till date 2,42,165 Yatris had the darshan of the Shivling at the Holy Cave.

Another Muslim Man Lynched in the name of Gau Raksha

July 21 A 28-year-old man was lynched by a group of people on suspicion that he was smuggling cows in Rajasthan's Alwar district, reports said. Akbar Khan, a resident of Kolgaon in Haryana and another man were taking two cows to their village through a forest area near Lalawandi village in Alwar district last night, when a group of people severely thrashed Khan.
