July 05 Indian Army Chief General Bipin Rawat said decades of militancy had shattered the education system in Jammu Kashmir and this is one of factors behind stone-pelting protests in the state. Karnataka Government Keep its Promise, Announces 34,000 cr loan waivers to Farmers

July 05 Keeping up the promise Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy coming to the succor of the farming community on Thursday announced waiver of all default crop loans benefiting farmers to the tune of Rs.34,000 crore. Presenting his maiden budget in the Legislative Assembly, Mr Kumaraswamy said crop loans made upto December 31, 2017 would be waived up in the first stage. He said the loan amount would be restricted to Rs.two lakhs As an encouragement to the non defaulting farmers, the Chief Minister has decided to credit the repaid loan amount or Rs.25,000 or whichever is less to each of the farmer’s account. July 04 Rayees Shah Three pilgrims died and many injured due to landslides during pilgrimage to holy Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas. Flood Situation in Assam Turns Grim- 32 Dead- Indian Media Neglects

July 02 The flood situation in Assam continues to be grim as the death toll has reached 32 and at least 63,000 people have been affected across five districts of Assam with the MeT department having predicted more rain in the coming days. At least 48 people killed in Utarakhand road Accident

July 01 At least 48 people were killed after a bus fell down into a 60-metre deep gorge in Uttarakhand on Sunday. As per reports, the accident took place at about 9 a.m., near the Queens Bridge on the Pipli-Bhaun road when the driver lost control of the 28-seater bus which was headed to Ramnagar from Bhaun Eight injured people were rushed to nearby medical facilities out of which four were in “very critical” condition. Women Commandos Prepared to Deal with Stone Throwers

June 30 Stone throwing incidents have been on rise in the Kashmir valley post the Ramadan ceasefire which saw a drop in the number of stone pelting incidents. To tackle the situation, The Central Reserve Police Force has prepared a team of Women troopers to deal with stone throwers after it has been found that women are actively participating in Stone throwing. The team has been provided the special training of fixing weapons in less than a minute, fighting blindfold and tackling the enemy during the night.
