Teenage Girl Raped by Four People in UP

December 21 Four persons have been arrested for allegedly raping a teenage girl in Sikandarpur area in Uttar Pradesh, police said Friday. The police arrested four of the five accused on Thursday for raping the 13-year-old on November 29, they added. “The arrested were identified as Manish, Arjun, Acchelal and Krishna. The fifth accused is on the run,” a senior official said.

This Rikshaw Puller Built Nine Schools in Assam From His Personal Savings

December 20 Ahmed Ali, the 82-year-old rickshaw-puller from Karimganj district, opened nine schools in Madhurband village of Patharkandi with his personal earnings. By mentioning Ali in his monthly address to the nation, the PM set off a sense of festivity in the remote village, close to the Bangladesh border. “I began my work by the wish of Allah and achieved some success by means of blessings from locals,” said Ali, a school dropout himself. He first started building a school in 1978. He sold a piece of land that he had and collected some money from villagers and established a lower primary school. Protests to Be Held At Delhi Against Pulwama Killings

December 19 A protest march has been organized in New Delhi's Jantar Mantar against the "gruesome" murder of seven civilians in Pulwama on Saturday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the march has been candle light vigil and protest demonstration has been organized by a group of Civil Society Organization including the People's Union for Civil Liberties, National Alliance of People's Movements. The March is scheduled to start in about 4:30 pm at the Delhi's Jantar Mantar and is expected to be attended by both Kashmiri and Non Kashmiri Participants.
