Shivling Melts Completely- 2,42,165 Yatris Have visited Till Now

July 24 The ice shivling at the Amarnath cave in Jammu Kashmir has melted completely, as on Sunday evening. “The shivling has melted but ‘Mata Parvati’ is still intact,” camp director Sachin Jamwal told media reporters. The yatra is still continuing and approximately 5,000 pilgrims are visiting the cave every day. “Whether or not the shivling melts, yatris continue to visit because the cave itself has tremendous religious significance,” Jamwal added. On the 27th day of the Shri Amarnathji Yatra, 1,629 Yatris paid obeisance at the Holy Cave. Till date 2,42,165 Yatris had the darshan of the Shivling at the Holy Cave.

July 24 A girl at a government-funded shelter home here has alleged that an inmate was beaten to death and buried in the premises and several other girls were raped, prompting the Bihar police to dig up the ground to look for the body.Sexual exploitation of girls lodged at the shelter home in Bihar had come to light in a social audit by a Mumbai-based institute, following which the state social welfare department lodged an FIR in this connection last month and 10 people were arrested. July 21 A 28-year-old man was lynched by a group of people on suspicion that he was smuggling cows in Rajasthan's Alwar district, reports said. Akbar Khan, a resident of Kolgaon in Haryana and another man were taking two cows to their village through a forest area near Lalawandi village in Alwar district last night, when a group of people severely thrashed Khan. The other man with Khan managed to escape, he added. Khan was rushed to a government hospital in Ramgarh, where doctors declared him brought dead. July 19 The Intelligence agencies have warned that Militant commander Zakir Rashid Bhatt alias Musa is planning a fidayeen attack on police personnel deployed in the state of Punjab and Jammu, reported Zee News. Zakir Musa, who heads the Militant outfit Ansar Gazwat ul Hind, is sending recruits to Jammu region to prepare for the attack, the report claimed. 10 Year old Girl Raped 10 Times on Way to Home from School

July 19 A school girl aged 10 was gang-raped by 10 boys until she reached her home after classes. Reports said that the teenager from Bihar in India had left the government high school towards home when the incident happened. She was overpowered by the group who then dragged her into a sugar cane field and repeatedly raped her, reports suggest. Eventually, she fell unconscious. When the teenager regained consciousness, she was warned there would be ‘dire consequences’ if she informed the police.

14 killed as bus falls into gorge in Uttarakhand

July 19 At least 14 people were killed and 17 others injured when a bus they were travelling in fell deep down into a 250 metre deep gorge in Tehri district of Uttarakhand. The accident is reported to have happened at Kirgani on Rishikesh-Chamba-Gangotri highway around 8 am when the Uttarakhand Roadways was travelling at Tehri District. Out of the 17 others injured, Six were flown in a chopper for treatment at AIIMS, Rishikesh, while the rest were being treated at Tehri District hospital in Tehri. The Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh for the families of those killed and Rs 50,000 for those injured.
