The Jammu Kashmir Police has detained 26 persons as a preventive measure following protests over toll plaza in Sarora area of Samba in Jammu. Jammu Kashmir Police used tear gas and lathi charges to disperse a protest that turned violent at the Sarore Toll Plaza. The protest, led by the Yuva Rajput Sabha (YRS), called for the closure of the toll plaza and the release of detained members. The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has inducted a ‘Wheeled Armoured Amphibious Platform’ vehicle in Kashmir that can operate in both land and water. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the WHAP is an 8x8 vehicle that is jointly built by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Tata Motors with a seating capacity of twelve people.
