The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) of the Uttar Pradesh Police has arrested a Hizbul Mujahideen-affiliated militant from Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir. In a statement issued here on Sunday, the ATS said that its team went to Jammu and Kashmir and with the help of the local police arrested Firdous Ahmad Dar from Kokernag police station area on Friday. After completing the court process there, the ATS team took Dar in transit remand and brought him to Lucknow on Saturday. The Government of Haryana disallowed Friday prayers in Gurugram area of the north Indian state and also razed shanties of more than 250 Muslims in the state. According to a report by NDTV,  the bulldozer move, however, is also being seen as action against alleged rioters, as both the district administration and the Chief Minister earlier alleged immigrants were involved in the clashes. Sources said Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar ordered the demolition. On Thursday, British MP Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi was stopped for around two hours by immigration officials after he landed at the Shri Guru Ramdas ji International Airport here on Thursday, PTI reported. Though there was no official word about stopping the MP, the sources said the Labour MP from Slough was not carrying his Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card. Dhesi, who's known for being outspoken on Sikh issues, was made to wait for two hours before being allowed to leave the airport, they said. A Punjab police official said Dhesi arrived from Birmingham at around 9 am and he did not complain of any difficulty or problem faced inside the airport. The Railways on Wednesday said in a statement that no mental ailment was detected in the last periodic medical examination of the RPF constable accused in the Jaipur-Mumbai train shooting incident but withdrew it within hours. Railway Protection Force (RPF) Constable Chetan Singh (33) is accused of gunning down his senior colleague Tika Ram Meena and three passengers aboard the moving train near Palghar railway station on the outskirts of Mumbai in the early hours of Monday with his automatic weapon, officials had said. The Haryana Police have filed 44 FIRs and arrested 139 culprits so far to investigate the communal riots that broke out in Nuh and Gurugram districts. Tension prevailed in both districts where police and central forces have been deployed in large numbers to keep the situation under control. The police action was going on against those who indulged and spread the violence that broke out on July 31. So far 44 FIRs have been registered and 139 have been arrested, including 23 on Wednesday night in connection with the Nuh riots. Around 190 people from 35 families belonging to the nomadic Madari society have converted to Hinduism in Nemawar, situated on the banks of the Narmada River. The event took place on Monday morning and was presided over by saints Ramasav Das Shastri from Nemavar and Anandagiri Maharaj from Salana, Ratlam Muslim Mirror reported. The process began when these individuals, originally hailing from Amba village in Ratlam district, came in contact with Sant Anandagiri Maharaj about four years ago. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday raided 31 locations across Punjab and Haryana to locate those involved in the conspiracy behind the March 19 attack on the High Commission of India in London. The agency said searches were carried out to identify and arrest all those involved in the conspiracy. "It has been carrying out extensive investigations into the incident with a view to ensuring there is no repeat of such breach of security, disrespect to the Indian National Flag or any threat to Indian interests abroad," said the NIA statement. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed the Gyanvapi mosque row in an interview on July 31, urging the Muslim side in the case to offer a solution for a "historical mistake". The interview comes as the Allahabad High Court is hearing a plea by the mosque committee, which has appealed against a Varanasi district court's order directing the Archaeological Survey of India to hold a survey and determine if the Varanasi mosque was built on a temple.
