Over 50,650 men, women and children, displaced in Manipur’s ethnic violence were sheltered in 350 camps, Information and Public Relations and Health Minister S. Ranjan said here on Sunday. The Minister said that district and cluster nodal officers have been deputed to take care and look after the relief centers set up in more than 10 districts in Manipur, which witnessed devastating ethnic violence since May 3 killing 105 people and injuring over 320. A Delhi court has pulled up the Delhi Police for falsely claiming that a complainant can identify the accused in a case pertaining to the 2020 north-east Delhi riots, while acquitting the accused Noor Mohammad of offences related to rioting and unlawful assembly. The court also questioned the credibility of a police witness, saying “it seemed his statement was obtained falsely and belatedly”. “The fact that the state falsely cited the complainant as a witness who can identify the accused as the offender, indicates that the case of the prosecution that the offence was committed by the accused Noor Mohammad is false,” Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Shirish Aggarwal of Karkardooma Courts said. Police have arrested four Hindus for vandalizing temples in Bulandshahr district in  Uttar Pradesh. According to a report by Muslim Mirror, the four identified as Harish Sharma, Shivam, Keshav, and Ajay have been detained for their involvement in the act of vandalizing idols in four temples located in Baral village of Bulandshahr district, Uttar Pradesh. At least twelve idols were vandalized by the four which evoked massive protests by right wing Hindu organizations.
