In a statement released today, Joseph said that a group of unidentified individuals attacked the private resident of President Jovenel Moise overnight and shot him dead. The Afghan Forces have started a major offensive against Taliban in Afghanistan, in which more than 261 Taliban Militants have been killed. On Tuesday, Tolo News reported that, Afghan forces pushed back a major attack by the Taliban on Hazrat Sultan district in the Central province of Samangan on Monday evening. The clashes continued for many hours and ended shortly after midnight. Sixteen Taliban Militants were killed during these clashes. Taliban on Monday night claimed that they captured Hazrat Sultan district. The group has not commented on their casualties in the clashes. Drugmaker Morepen Laboratories has begun production of Sputnik V, the Russian vaccine against coronavirus in India. The vaccine is being manufactured at Morepen Laboratories' plant in Himachal Pradesh, says Russia's sovereign wealth fund RDIF. The RDIF has said that the first batch will be shipped to Gamaleya Center in Russia for quality control. RDIF and Morepen Laboratories had entered into a cooperation agreement for the manufacture of Sputnik V in June 2021.
