Police have booked three workers from the proscribed Jamat-e-Islami organization under Unlawful Activities Act in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district. Police sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that three activists from Jamat-e-Islami were arrested earlier and today they were booked on charges of harbouring, aiding militants and hatching conspiracy. These workers have been identified as Mudasir Hasan Mir a resident of Sallar, Abdul Hayat Alaie of Audoora Kulgam, living at present in Sallar village and Farooq Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Lever village. Danishwar Hameed A residential house was gutted in a massive fire Matalhama in area of South Kashmir’s kulgam district on Sunday morning. An official told The Kashmiriyat that the fire broke out at around 10:30 am and soon after the fire broke out locals reached the spot and tried to douse the flames, however, they failed to do so. He said that a residential house that belonged to Abdul Rashid Reshi was destroyed in the devastating fire. The immediate causes of the fire were not known, however no injuries were reported from the incident.

Suhail Dar The family of a 16-year-old boy from the Redwani area of Kulgam district who has gone missing from his home in the South Kashmir district has appealed him to return home. Identified as Basit Ahmed Dar, the 16-year-old left his home for an errand and informed his family that he will return in a short span, but after that, his phone has been switched off. Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, the family members of the teenager appealed to him to return home saying that, he has been missing since 25 April. “He left home for Kulgam for his work and that was the last time he called his family, since then his mobile phone is switched off to date,” a family member of Basit said. The Government forces on Monday busted a militant hideout in the Manzgam forest area in South Kashmir's Kulgam district. Official sources told that a militant hideout was busted in the Rehmakan Manzgam forest area of D H Pora in the Kulgam district. “So far, some arms have been recovered and further searches of the hideout and area around are going on,” sources said. As many as 110 non-local labourers, who arrived in Kashmir last week, have tested positive for COVID-19 in Qazigund area of South Kashmir's Kulgam district on Sunday, officials said. A health official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that they have collected 190 samples of non-local labourers three day ago, among which 110 labourers have tested positive. As per official, majority of these infected labourers were working with Border Road Organization (BRO) in Ladakh region. "All positive cases have been sent to COVID care centres at two hotels in Qazigund area where public movement has restricted," he said—(KNO)
